In Dante’s Inferno he writes about the underworld but uncommon to popular belief it can be proved that in his work Dante was less concerned about eternal damnation, and more concerned about pushing his political and social beliefs in his work. The manner in which Dante orders the canto clearly represents his moral standpoint regarding certain issues, and not necessarily any Christian doctrine at the time. In the Inferno the early canto’s are reserved for the less sever crimes while the latter cantos are reserved for the most severe crimes of all. One who has read the Inferno can clearly see that Dante arranges the different cantos and their inhabitants depending on the severity of their crime during his day and age. In canto six of
