Guilt: The Gift that Keeps on Giving (Affirmative Action)

Affirmative Action is defined as an active attempt to integrate minorities and women into both higher education and the workforce. Seemingly, the ultimate intent of the policy is to have these areas become a cross-section of society, in terms of race and gender. The controversies of this issue lie in its relevance to present society, the concept of artificial equality, and perceived reverse discrimination. It is my contention that Affirmative Action does not even attempt to truly remedy problems of race relations and gender inequality, and is in fact unconstitutional. It is merely a charade; a relic from another century kept in place only to convince the public that discrimination is being addressed and remedied as if it were a clerical
