Wstern Culture and Buddhism are incompatibel

The aim of my personal study is to assess to what extent Buddhism can be practically applied within western culture. Buddhism is an originally Eastern religion/way of life, thus posing problems for westerners who traditionally lead a very different lifestyle.
In order to draw conclusions about this compatibility it is necessary to understand, firstly the basis of Western society, and secondly, the fundamentals of Buddhism. Western culture is predominantly based upon Judeo-Christian beliefs and teachings, with the influences of ancient philosophers, such as Aristotle.
