Racism in Native Son

The effect racism had on the black and white population in the 1930’s is strongly portrayed in the novel “Native Son” by Richard Wright. Racism in one form or another is the basis for resentment, oppression, and anger towards each other’s race. Bigger represents the oppressed but rebellious black person. The Daltons represent the sympathetic family, but still treats blacks and immigrants as servants.
