Over the last few weeks in class we have been discussing what law is, what it means to us personally, what does it mean to have a society of laws, and the nature and purpose of law. First of all what is law? Law is a social norm that is established by those with the power to make laws and enforce them. Law, in its most simple form, is often a rule that is not to be broken and when a law is broken there will be consequences. We all live by laws everyday whether or not we think about them or not. When we drive to school every morning we stop at red lights and follow the speed limit, Why?
