On the 3rd of August, Germany declared war on Russia and on the 5th of August France declared war on Germany. This was the start of the First World War, also know as the Great War. No one knew, that this was to be the most devastating war in the history of the world. Millions were to die. I myself wonder, if they knew what was to come?

On the 28th of June 1914 the heir to the Austria throne, Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife was assassinated in Sarajevo, Bosnia
