A plethora of books and articles have been written and movies made on this subject to examine the impact of information technology growth on privacy. These books along with the hysteria of science fiction alarmed the general public with a preconceived notion that technology is a threat to their privacy. Technology would not have been as pervasive as it is today, if it was all notorious. The benefits of information technology are manifold and beyond the scope of this paper.
