In her article “The Criminalization of Homelessness”, Celine-Marie Pascal defends the poor and homeless, claiming that the human rights of the destitute are of a secondary concern to the civil liberties taken for granted by the fortunate. This argument is well supported with clear examples of contradictory laws enforced in some major U.S. cities. Pascal rightly places blame on politicians and law enforcers whose aim is to persecute the weak, tired and hungry.
