Task 1
The basic nutritional needs of the body are the body are proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, minerals and vitamins c, d and e.
We need proteins for bodily growth and repair. We need carbohydrates for energy. Structures of carbohydrates are simple and complex i.e. sugar (simple) and starch (complex). We need lipids for energy and insulation. We need minerals to allow our body to produce blood and bones. And we need vitamins c to maintain such things as healthy skin, vitamin d to absorb, and we need vitamin e as an antioxidant.
Task 2
There are guild lines that we should follow in our everyday intake of food/nutrients, this target and help the different parts of the body. The percentages are as follows;
