in my mind Salvador Dali was one of the greatest visionaries and artists of all times. He was born on May 11th, 1904 to Salvador Dali y Cusi and Felipa Domenech in a small town in Spain. He was first educated at a private and began painting around the age of twelve. During the 1920's he attended the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid Spain; in 1923 Dali was suspended from the Academy, charged with inciting a riot. The following year he had another run in with the authorities and was incarcerated for alleged subversion. Despite these-or maybe due to these-youthful societal issues his first solo showing was held at the Dalmau Dallery in Barcelona in autumn 1925.
