A Critique of The Alchemist
|
For me, reading Paulo Coelho’s “The Alchemist” is a moral-awakening experience. The story is very optimistic and it tells us that there is no room for fear if you want to reach your goals. After I read this book, my heart was flooded with mixed emotions of joy, fear, courage and hope. It made me ask myself, “Am I brave enough like the shepherd who chose to follow his dream or will I end up just like many others who chose to take the safe path?” I am not yet absolutely sure about my response to this question though I hope that in time I will be.
