Give a man a fish and he can eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he can eat for a lifetime. This saying has variations, but its meaning is always the same. Prevention and health promotion are both key factors in the well being of our society. Educating particular target groups on specific topics allows them to prevent the possible occurrence of injury or disease, while enhancing their current state of wellbeing through the empowerment of knowledge (Hunt & Zurek, 1997).
The target group we were assigned was the childbearing family and infant. Through research and group collaboration we found shaken baby syndrome to be a cause for concern. It is one of the many preventable injuries if education is implemented. It was mutually decided
