As my exhausted legs keep on trucking forward, the frigid rain turns to ice on my thin, ripped jacket. I’m going to be late for Christmas eve dinner and I’m turning to ice my whole way there. As I pull the haggard, frozen jacket tighter all I could think about was the warm fire place and the smell of the roasted turkey. Just three more blocks and I am home free… or that’s what I thought.
