Vietnam was conflict that hit America where it hurt. Although, the United States inflicted the most casualties upon the Vietcong it was not enough to overturn the determination and the stubbornness of the communist forces. The problem with the United States doctrine in Vietnam was the United States doctrine in Vietnam. We rushed into a war with inadequate supplies, lack of planning, and we under estimated the enemy.
