The law is blind?
|
Canadians in general seem to have the belief that justice is blind and that all are equal before it. Unfortunately these people have been mislead and are living in a false reality. In actual fact, justice is far from blind and there are many groups that are not treated fairly at all. The poor are constantly mistreated through the law and suffer through a great amount of discrimination and abuse. Justice is not blind and fair unless you’re part of the “higher” stratosphere of society. Because the poor unfortunately do not fall into this category their battles with justice are often uphill. Almost all levels of the justice system, mainly policing, the courts, and imprisonment have large aspects of injustice towards the poor.
