Donald Woods is shocked to set eyes on the dead Steven Biko’s beaten and bruised body after the government stated death from a hunger strike, in the movie Cry Freedom. Steven Biko was a South African black prominent speaker who promoted the Black Consciousness Act. Donald Woods was a white (South African) newspaper editor who became friends with Biko and was deeply influenced by Biko. Imperialism is domination by one country of the political, economic, or cultural life of another country. This colonization took place in South Africa, by the Dutch and English. Apartheid, which it produced, was the legal act of separating blacks from whites. It was implemented by the National Party. The English and Dutch people were the original white colonis
