The Palace Hotel, also known as the blue hotel, was the only place traveler’s could stop before reaching their destinations. The reason why it was named the Blue Hotel was the colors the owner chose to paint it. Therefore, there was no other place for them to go since that is where train stopped for the day. The hotel was located in Fort Romper, Nebraska. It was quite a comfortable hotel to stay. The owner, Pat Scully, made sure his patrons felt right at home. Pat Scully was a man who cared about his patrons, believed in doing what was right and tried to protect the Swede.
Every morning and every evening, Pat Scully would go to the train station to pick up any man that looked as if he had no where to go with his gripsack in hand. Af
