In the history of the United States presidency, only two presidents have been impeached. In 1868, it was the seventeenth president, Andrew Johnson and in 1998, the forty second president, Bill Clinton. After reviewing both cases, there seems to be some parallels and differences.
Even though the cases occurred at different times in history, the similarities are apparent. Both president Johnson and Clinton came from very common backgrounds.
