On page 120 of the text, we see a sunken relief showing Akhenaten and His Family in limestone. The image is a depiction of Queen Nefertiti and Akhenaten with three of their daughters. The king and queen both sit on thrones and one can see that under Nefertiti’s throne cushion, there is a symbol – a stylized plant- which represents a unified Egypt. (Stokstad 120) Two of the couples three daughters are with their mother. The eldest daughter sits on her lap and is pointing. The second daughter almost looks as if she is sitting on her mother’s shoulder, with her hand touching her mother’s cheek.
