a) Territoriality is by definition the possession and the defense of the territory where the animal lives. Territories give adequate food, and a place so that they can mate and protect their young. It is form of social organization. This allows the strongest and dominant members of a species to choose the living space and access to resources for survival. This is an area that is defended. Territoriality help to stabilize population density by making sure that some individuals have a decent supply of resources to reproduce. Territories are defined by agonistic behavior.
