Capital punishment is not the answer in attaining proper justice; instead, it increases the death toll and leaves survivors paying through their pocketbooks and heartaches. The commonly offered arguments for the death penalty are filled with holes. It is a deterrent. It removes killers. It is the ultimate punishment. It is biblical. It satisfies the public’s need for retribution. It relieves the anguish of the victim’s family.
