There are three different types of rock in the Yucca Mountain Area. These types are the igneous rock, the metamorphic rock, and the sedimentary rock. The Igneous rock is made from the cooling of molten materials. After the hot liquids and chemical components mix they will cool and have a crystalline texture. When this is forced to be cooled rapidly, it is also known as volcanic rock. The rock will not only be crystalline in texture, but it will also be plutonic. The plutonic rock will most likely include pieces of glass as well. This is also made from the molten, which includes silicon and many metal oxides. The second type is Sedimentary.
