Poverty is one of the largest social problems around the world. There is nearly 36 million below the actual poverty line, which is about $15, 000 a year for a family of four (Casse 238). Thanks to the government, a number of these people are given money each year to help themselves and their families. Many of these people on welfare are under the age of 18 and living in families with single parents. For a many years, the welfare system provided by the government was abused to a great extent.
