An Analysis and Close Reading of the Sonnet by the Romantic Poet
John Keats.
Having such a tragic life, it seems that John Keats (1795- 1821), out of all the Romantic poets, had written out of the deepest sorrow. At the age of eight his father died as a result of a fall from a horse, and at the age of fourteen his mother died of tuberculosis. Later on, it seems, that falling in love with poetry had brought poverty on him. That was one of the reasons why he could not marry Fanny Brawne, with whom he was deeply in love. Another reason was his growing illness, which made the marriage impossible.
