Eli Whitney was born on December 8, 1765. He was the son of Eli and Elizabeth (Fay) Whitney. He was born in Worcester County in a town called Westborough, Massachusetts. Not many people paid much attention to his birth. Other than the fact that he had black hair, was longer than most babies and had a long nose. His parents had no way of knowing that their son would someday be a great inventor!
