“The Killer Angels”
Michael Shaara’s historical yet fictional account of the American Civil War is a doctrine which attempts to expose the true purposes of the Confederate’s secession from its union. The Killer Angels highlights the true difference between the Union and Confederate attitudes at a time of confusion and change. Shaara successfully reveals the main motives which would cause the common Southern man, in 1860, to be willing to partake in a war for his country’s freedom.
