In my opinion, politics here is defined as power. When the President said “stop politicking so that proper governing could be carried out”, she meant that the actors should stop trying to make themselves look good and put the country’s interests first. Everyone wants power but not everyone can have it, or rather, have enough of it. People have different interests and goals, and power can get it for them. Politics is a means for some people to dominate others. This highlights politics as being about conflict and diversity.
