Macbeth Soliloquey Commentary

In Act III, scene i, of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Banquo and Macbeth talk about the witches prophecies. The witches predicted that Macbeth will be Thane of Cawdor and King, and Banquo will not be king but will have sons who are. While Banquo says he has thought about them a lot, Macbeth lies and says he has hardly thought about them. Banquo is suspicious of Macbeth because he thinks that Macbeth achieved his power foully. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are holding a feast at their castle. Macbeth asks Banquo join them, but he is unable to because he and his son Fleance are going to talk to Malcolm and Dolbanian, but Macbeth tells him that they will not admit to the crime.
