The book I read was titled “The Street Lawyer” by John Grisham. This book began with a hostage situation at the large law firm known as Drake and Sweeny. Nine lawyers including an associate Michael Brock were held as hostages in one room. They found out they were being held by a homeless man named DeVon Hardy who wanted to be referred to as “Mister”. He had a loaded gun and explained he was armed with twelve sticks of dynamite. One pull of a wire and the room would blow up. Michael Brock became the spokesperson for “Mister” and had to tie everyone up while being held at gunpoint. “Mister” quizzed everyone on how much they made a year and what they had eaten for lunch that day, because he was homeless.
