The War of 1812 is sometimes called the “second war for independence”. It was the second war that the United States fought against Great Britain in forty years. The war was a build up of abuses from Great Britain ever since America’s independence in 1776. These abuses were too great for the United States to ignore. The war was not a sudden cause of a certain event however it was a gradual process which was bound to happen. The War of 1812 was inevitable due to various causes.
