Viktor E. Frankl

Viktor Frankl was a survivor, neurologist, psychiatrist, author, teacher and hero. He was born on March 26, 1905 in Vienna Austria. He was the second child of Elsa and Gabriel Frankl. His father was the director of Austria’s Ministry of Social Service. He loved mountain climbing and had an interest in psychology in junior high school. He corresponded with Freud. (All these letters were taken by the Gestapo during WWII.) In 1924, Freud sent Frankl’s first article in for publication to the International Journal of Psychoanalysis.
