The title of this book originally was Elinor and Marianne but later was revised to become Sense and Sensibility. I believe that this title is significant to this book because it describes what the book is about.
In this Essay I would like to describe and compare two main characters, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, who represent sense and sensibility. Sense in the dictionary is defined as practical intelligence, reasonable thought, something sensible and reasonable. Elinor Dashwood fits into those definitions perfectly. She can be described as down-to-earth, sensible, rational and practical. The dictionary defines sensibility as capacity for feeling, capacity for being affected emotionally or intellectually.
