In 1954, William Golding published his novel “Lord of the Flies” discussing various themes, one of the most important of which is the theme of deterioration of man. Sixty-three years before this novel was published, Oscar Wilde discussed the same theme, though differently, in his novel “The Picture of Dorian Gray”.
