The climax, the most intense event near the end that resolves the conflict, occurs when Crispin, along with his master- an obese juggler- named Bear find themselves in their enemies fortress. There John Aycliffe, the steward who was hunting Crispin down in the previous town, tried to kill him on a stage. Among the three men, were clergy men of the local church, and townspeople, who surrounded the stage like if there was a performance going on. Beyond the people, it was clear that Crispin had nothing to say, he had no clue as to why people wanted him dead.
