Today, there are problems that campesinos face that the campesions in 1911 faced. On January 1, 1994, the North American Free Trade Agreement or NAFTA meet armed campesions. These people want land, justice, and democracy. Years of poverty had lead to a group of Indians with weapons who called themselves the zapatistas. The zapatistas has spent years petitioning their government, trying to get their government to see the deepening poverty among the rural communities. The rebels had a great message for the leaders.
