Describe the events of 6th June 1946 in the British Sector

“OK, let’s go” at this moment the mission was underway. 137 warships, 4,000 landing crafts and almost 2,00 supports ships set off. The aircrafts dropped their paratroopers to the east and west of the beaches to secure a safe way for the British troops and stop the German reinforcements. However at 00:16 tragedy five gliders crash-landed on top of the two vital bridges over the Orne and the Canal. The troops scrambled from their ships, startling the enemy, and clasped a firm hold of the two bridges.
