How does an archaeologist define what urbanism is? That is a difficult question that really doesn’t have a single answer. Even after reading the articles written by Chang, Wang, and Shen one can come to the conclusion that not one article clearly defined how urbanism was formed in ancient China. Each article mentioned cities in their arguments but did not exactly say how or what clearly encompassed a city. I will summarize each article and mention the pros and cons of how the author clearly did or didn’t define what a city is and how urbanism was created in ancient China. Although each article reported similar explanations for their reasons of how urbanism developed, I will look for one author who produced his conclusions more succes
