Our society is kept in order through the government of law. Laws are created to set boundaries for every action imaginable. Either a person commits a crime or doesn’t. He or she is either guilty or innocent. The guilty are punished and the innocent are freed. The idea that there is never a dispute as to whether an action is legal or illegal is strictly the result of laws in action. While laws carry such a heavy responsibility of keeping our society in perfect order, we must not forget that they are only manmade. Because of humans’ natural tendency to be error prone, laws can’t keep our society perfect. Thus, situations will arise in which no law may fully address.
