One of the most controversial poets of the 1900's was Ted Hughes. A man who’s work is “deeply reliant upon myth and the bardic tradition” (Wikipedia). A poet who had been writing as an adolescent.

Ted Hughes studied at Cambridge University and began publishing his poems in literary
journals. In 1956, he met his future love, wife and tragic tale, Slyvia Plath. If it were not for
Plath, Hughes would have never submitted his first writings, The Hawk in the Rain, into a
contest. Thanks to his talent, Hughes won. His book published in England and America in 1957. It established Hughes as an “important and innovative poet of his generation” (The academy of American Poets 1).
