Child abuse is immoral and needs to be stopped. In the book The Bean Trees, by Barbara Kingsolver, the family Turtle was living with before she lived with Taylor abused her. Abusing a child can always have a negative affect on them. People, who feel they need to be abusive towards their children or other children, break the child’s trust towards adults and other people. When Taylor took Turtle to the doctor, “He examined and explained about abrasions and contusions and the healing process” (kingsolver 164). Taylor thought that the reason Turtle did not show any of her emotions, was because the family she was recently living with abused her. Because Turtle was abused, she kept all her emotions and visible feelings inside.
