As is obvious by the examination of any history textbook, newspaper, or police report from the 1960’s America, although geographically the same country was socially and psychologically on a completely different planet than it is today. In the climate of extreme prejudice, segregation and violence that existed many Black leaders emerged to fight for integration and their peoples right to formal equality. The Mainstream civil rights movement, lead by Christian organizations such as Martin Luther King JR’s Urban League attempted to promote acceptance and equality through “daring” massive protests.
