During primary and secondary schooling, I can honestly say that I never paid much attention to any school other than my own. Perhaps that alludes to my ignorance. Despite that, through this course I have learned to be far more aware of my surroundings. Essentially, the school related inequalities that have been depicted for us have been eye opening. In his essay, “Savage Inequalities: Children in U.S. Schools”, Jonathan Kozol discusses the differences between two schools in New York, Public Schools 24 and 79, which encompass a large portion of the Bronx, and are collectively known as District 10.
