Madonna of the Candelabra

The painting entitled Madonna of the Candelabra by Rafaello Sanzio is a beautiful painting using oil on a panel. The painting is 64 X 65.7 cm in size. This artwork depicts the Madonna and child. The child is facing forward and seems to be looking directly at the viewer. The Madonna has a downcast gaze and it is understood that see is looking at John the Baptist although he is not represented in the painting. The face of the Madonna and the child are painted much brighter than the rest of the painting drawing the viewer’s attention to the center.
