There are many people in the world that has a wide range of behaviors, ability to choose the most appropriate behavior, skill at performing the behavior, cognitive complexity, self-monitoring, and commitment. Those characteristics are characteristics of a competent communicator. A competent communicator can be defined as one who achieves “one’s goals in a manner that, ideally, maintains or enhances the relationship in which it occurs” (Adler and Towne 30). A particular person that fits all those characteristics is Daria Muse.
