Ethics are personal. Everyone is different with their thoughts and theories about what is ethical and what is not. Two people will never agree on what is ethical.
Euthyphro is a perfect example of someone who has developed his own ethics. We see this in his case where his father has murdered a stranger. Euthyphro is on his way to turn his father into a jury when he passes by the great Socrates. Socrates questions Euthyphro’s actions saying it is ridiculous to turn in ones own father for the killing of a stranger. Euthyphro responds to his criticism by stating that it is not a matter of who was killed, but it is a matter of whether the killer acted justly or not.
