Art is a crazy term/idea. Over the years, art has served purposes both spiritual and practical, psychological and for its own innate beauty. To better understand the concept of art, often times its helpful to examine a few works and discuss their similarities and differences. It seemed like such a good (graded) idea, that I would myself examine two very prominent works of art. The first being the votive figures (small proxy church-goers statuettes) of the ancient Sumerian culture, and the second being the Monkey Lamp my ex girlfriend got me at Wal-Mart.
