Review of the Movie “Powder”
The movie “Powder” shows a slice of the life of a young boy named Jeremy Reed. Jeremy’s mother died at childbirth but not before she was struck by lighting. We are lead to believe this action caused Jeremy to develop into the atypical teenager feared by most of the members of the community. He received the nickname Powder from his grandparents since he is an albino. After the death of his grandfather, Powder is forced into a home for boys and attended school for the first time in his life. Up to this point, Powder is very book smart, but not smart in the ways of the world.
