Over the past five years the movement to legalize slot machines in Maryland has entered the political scene. The main issue is to what level should they be allowed, if at all. Many are in favor of allowing slots at Maryland racetracks but not in favor of allowing them anywhere else. Others think that if they allow the slots at the race tracks, then it will led to casinos and other gambling houses. The final issue is the problems that will come with the slot machines. Political figures against the issue believe that slots will cause more problems then they will fix. People in favor think that the revenue that is collected will help fund schools and fix the budget problems.
