I completed this simple yet miraculous act by using a God-given tool that is now in grave danger. It is a tool most of us have come to take for granted -- that magnificent human appendage, the index finger. Let us pause and consider how many times a day we flick and flex and stab and jab with this marvelous manipulator. And let us consider the awful consequence of life without it; for indeed, that may soon be our fate.
