Most people think of Muhammad Ali as the greatest boxer that ever lived. Even though this is true, Muhammad Ali was also a man of great faith. Ali’s celebrity status as one of the greatest athletes of all time never diminished his religious devotion. Ali is a member of the “Nation of Islam” or “Black Muslims” an African American religious movement in the United States. Despite the many obstacles or pressures he faced against his religion, Ali remained strong and independent in his faith and never let the challenges alter his strong beliefs. The following will describe the early years of Ali’s life, his personal and athletic achievements, as well as his significance to the rest of the world.
